The History

1985

THE fOUNDING yEAR
In the year 1985, the Vintage & Classic Car Club of India was founded by Mr. Pranlal Bhogilal to champion the cause of preserving the rich automobile and motoring heritage of India. It is a matter of pride that the largest collection of vintage cars in the world is in India. 
 
Today, the VCCCI boasts of a robust presence of more than 500 members. 

1999-2000

The Biggest Rallies of India.
The year 1999 witnessed The Jewel of India and The Rally of the Raj graced the year 2020. The Jewel of India Rally organized by Rhythms of Road Rallies Ltd. (ROARR) and hosted by VCCCI, attracted participants from all over the world. The Rally of the Raj, India’s stellar milestone, is the 1st and only international Vintage & Classic Car Rally held in India. It saw participation from over 20 connoisseurs from UK to Mexico to 2300 kms of road run. It was a colossal journey from Delhi to Mumbai via Royal Indian cities of Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad & Rajpipla. Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, the patriarch of international motoring graced the rally in his Rolls Royce Silver Ghost 1909 being the oldest car in the rally. Other cars included Bentley, Vauxhall, Cadillac and Mercedes.Celebrating India’s 65th Republic Day!

2004

VCCCI celebrates 100 years of Rolls Royce!

Venue:Grand Hyatt,Santa Cruz, Mumbai,India.

The Vintage and Classic Car Club of India (VCCCI)event was the only Rolls-Royce centenary celebration in India.Vintage & Classic car owners brought out their pristine machines for a rally from TOI Bldg to The Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.

From the rare 1922 Silver Ghost(the oldest RR in the rally), the RR 1928 20/25-HP (which came from Pune), RR 1979 Silver Shadow (the first Rolls to be imported post-Independence), Silver Wraiths, Silver Spurs to the spanking-new 2004 Phantom( which was on display for the first time in the country)!

2014

65th REPUBLIC DAY
VCCCI was a part of the Republic Day parade held after 3 decades at the Marine Drive, Mumbai to celebrate India’s 65th Republic Day.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, his cabinet colleagues, senior bureaucrats and top police officers were present on the occasion. Thousands of people had gathered at the Marine Drive to witness the colourful event, which culminated in several Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen, Shreyas Talpade, participating in the extravaganza to cheer the crowd.
 

2019

Parx Auto Show

8-10th February 2019

Celebrating 100 years of the Western India Automobile Association (WIAA) in a Classic way! The biggest Auto show of India with 400 Vehicles of different Era!

We were honoured to have Mr.Graham Stoker Vice-President of Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA),Mr Subodh Kumar Jaiswal- Commissioner of Police,Mumbai along with other dignitaries to flag Off the drive.

2020

WIAA-VCCCI VolksWagen Drive 2020 & a Vintage and Classic car & bike Show for the 1st time in Thane!

Presented by Raymonds in Association with Thane Traffic Police.

Date: Sunday, 23rd Feb 2020.
Venue:WIAA,Churchgate to Raymond Convention Centre,Thane.

On the occasion of Road Safety Week, a vintage car and bike rally was organised in Thane.Thane Traffic Police and RTO also joined hands to spread the message of road safety. It was a 5-day exhibition that displayed majestic beauties like Rolls Royce, Bentley, Alvis, Hudson and bikes like Harley Davidson, Triumph and Royal Enfield. The exhibition concluded with a huge rally on Sunday and witnessed crowds in large numbers.
